Our Process

At NY Design, we follow a proven design process with every project to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients. This structured approach allows us to minimise your stress, avoid costly mistakes, and keep everything on track, giving you peace of mind and confidence throughout the entire process.

  • Initial Consultation

    We will meet for the first time and have an in-depth meeting about your project. We will walk through your home (or review your plans) and discuss your design aspirations, lifestyle needs, and vision for the project.

    We will then prepare a detailed design proposal that is customised for your project. Generally, we work on a fixed fee based on the scope of work for the project.

  • Briefing, Concept & Schematic

    We will have a briefing meeting to share our inspirational images and preliminary ideas on the design direction.

    From here, the ideas start to take shape. We’ll prepare an initial concept that includes proposed floorplans, material palettes, and 3D visualisations to help you start to see the design direction.

  • Design Development

    At this stage, your project comes to life in more detail.

    We’ll develop refined 3D representations of key spaces, joinery details, and curated material selections so you can clearly envision the outcome.

  • Documentation

    This important stage ensures that all the design details are meticulously documented with plans and schedules to communicate the designs to your project team.

    This comprehensive package allows builders and trades to provide accurate quotes and ensures a smooth, well-coordinated build.

  • Design Management

    During the construction, we will work closely with you and your project team to facilitate accurate execution of the documented proposed works, as your project comes to life.

  • Styling

    The final stage is where your house truly becomes a home. We take the overwhelm out of sourcing and managing every detail – from the furniture and rugs to the smaller touches such as artwork, accessories and styling pieces.
